Las Vegas, Nevada, has been a vacation hot spot for many years. It’s balmy climate and attractions grew in popularity in the early 1940’s when downtown Vegas began to develop a name for itself. It had accumulated a number of luxury hotels and successful gambling clubs. In 1941, El Rancho Las Vegas, a western styled casino with 100 motel rooms, was opened. The quick success of the El Rancho led to another property opening – The Last Frontier Hotel. Thus, the Strip was born.
The Strip contains Vegas’ authentically themed hotels that house casinos and live shows. It is a world on to itself. The illuminated Strip is a riot of color that beckons its residents and guests to delve into the magical realms of the popular cities in the world.
Las Vegas offers many attractions to its visitors. Gambling is usually what is associated with the city, but one will find, that is not all that Vegas has to offer. Among the elaborate casinos and shows, there is also horseback riding; Hot Air Balloon rides; golf courses; an array of art galleries and museums and all of these are centrally located within minutes of your hotels.
Perhaps the most interesting attraction that you might find is the helicopter tours that leave from Las Vegas, tour the Hoover Dam, and go to the depths of the famous Grand Canyon – what a sight! The Hoover Dam is a fantastic experience that is necessary for any Vegas vacationer.
